Ronald Reagan on Government, Freedom and Politics


  1. Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same. 
  2. If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under. 
  3. Trust, but verify. 
  4. Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other. 
  5.  Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them. 
  6.  It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first.
  7. Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged.
